Míriam Herrero Valea, Phd

Senior Data Scientist

PhD in Theoretical Physics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, with research positions at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland), the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (Italy) and the Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (Catalonia). My research focused on alternative theories of gravity and their possible observable effects on the gravitational wave spectrum. During my time at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, I worked on designing natural language models for the study of medieval texts and large-scale recommender systems, as well as on creating interactive experiences at the intersection of art and science. In my current work, I aim to bring the rigour and creativity of theoretical physics to real-world challenges in data science and artificial intelligence. Outside of work, I’m an aspiring fiction writer and an amateur barebow archer.
